‘Underwoodii’

♤ Lilac–pink (H1) buds that eventually fading to silver–white, VII–XI; dark green foliage; height 31–45cm; spread 46–60cm.

Wild-collected; found on the slopes of Chobham Ridges, Surrey, England, by George Underwood (Woking, Surrey) in 1936; introduced by G. Underwood & Sons (Hookstone Green Nursery, West End, Woking).

Named after the finder, George Underwood (see Erica vagans ‘George Underwood’).

‘Unity’

Ruby (H5) flowers; X–XII; foliage dark green; habit stiff, upright; height 31–45cm; spread 46–60cm. Selected seedling from the progeny ‘Allegro‘ x ‘Battle of Arnhem‘, raised by Kurt Kramer (Edewecht, Germany).

‘Ute’

♤ Bud-flowering: corolla and calyx light pink; buds medium-size; IX-XI; foliage light green; habit upright, very bushy, after 5 years 70cm tall, 50cm across. Chance seedling, found by Johannes van Leuven in September 2002. Because it is so similar to ‘Dapiali‘, not being introduced into the trade.
Named after Ute, a worker in van Leuven’s nursery.
