‘Lesley Sparkes’

Heliotrope (H12) flowers, XI–IV; mid-green foliage, shoots tipped with salmon and gold particularly in spring; slow growing; height 10–15cm; spread 21–25cm.

A sport from ‘King George‘; found about 1955 by J. W. Sparkes (Beechwood Nursery, Beoley, Redditch, Worcestershire, England); introduced either by J. W. Sparkes or J. F. Letts about 1966. It took 3 years before the sport could be rooted.

Named after a granddaughter (daughter of Joan) of J. W. Sparkes.
